Financial Aid Financial assistance is available for students who are enrolled in a degree program on at least a half-time basis (4 credit hours per semester for Graduate Students). Eligibility is based on financial need, which is determined by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available in the office of Student Financial Aid (SFA) and should be completed as early as possible after January 1st of each year since it will take approximately six weeks for the application to be processed and the results forwarded to SFA. The following financial programs are available to part-time students: Student Loans: Two long-term loan programs are available. The Perkins Loan and the Stafford Loan are available with financial need eligibility. Students must be fully admitted to the Graduate College and be registered for at least four credit hours for the Stafford Loan and eight credit hours for Perkins Loan consideration. In addition, students eligible for a tuition reimbursement program through their employer can also apply for the Employer Reimbursement Loan Program. This program allows the deferment of fees until approximately one month after the completion of the current semester.
